Dear devotees, today I want to share with you some extraordinary stories that will fill your hearts with devotion and show you the incredible power of sincere mental worship.
There's No Age Limit for Spiritual Practice
My dear friends, let me first remind you of something beautiful - there is no age restriction when it comes to spiritual practice and devotion. Whether you are 5 or 85, God's doors are always open for you. If we can plant the seeds of spiritual practices (yogic sanskaras) in childhood, then our entire life becomes ideal and blessed.
Saint Goswami Ruplal ji, who was devoted to Lord Krishna from his very childhood. His devotion was so pure and powerful that even a mad elephant became gentle and touched his feet with reverence. This shows us that when our hearts are filled with true devotion, even wild animals recognize the divine presence within us.
What is Mental Worship?
Before I share these amazing stories with you, let me explain what mental worship (manas puja) really means. In mental worship, we continuously meditate on God with complete focus of our mind. We visualize serving the Lord, offering Him everything with pure love and devotion.
The beauty of mental worship is that when a devotee's mind becomes completely absorbed in serving God, the Lord actually accepts whatever is offered mentally. But this only happens when the devotee's heart is completely merged in divine service, without any selfish desires.
Story 1: When God Caught a Fever!
Let me tell you an incredible story from Govardhan. There lived two great saints who were best friends and both were devoted followers of Lord Krishna. Every day, they would perform mental worship of their beloved Lord with complete dedication.
In their mental worship, they would:
- Give God a loving bath with soft towels
- Dress Him in beautiful clothes
- Decorate Him with golden ornaments
- Prepare delicious food and offer it with great love
They did all this mentally, but with such deep concentration and pure love that it was as real as physical worship.
The Divine Response
One winter day, both saints performed their daily mental worship as usual. But here's where the miracle happened - one saint gave Lord Krishna a warm water bath (thinking of the cold weather), while the other saint gave Him a cold water bath.
The next day, the first saint had a divine vision where Lord Krishna appeared to him and said, "My dear devotee, I have caught a fever! Your friend gave me a cold water bath in this winter weather, and now I'm sick!"
Can you imagine, dear devotees? God, who is beyond all physical conditions, actually experienced fever because of His devotee's mental worship! This shows how much the Lord values our sincere devotion. He becomes bound by our pure love and plays along with our feelings to give us joy and fulfillment.
Story 2: The Sweet Splash of Divine Love
Now let me share another beautiful story that will touch your hearts. There was a great saint named Baba Shri Gaurang Das ji in Braj. One day, Lord Krishna appeared to him in a dream and told him about a divine murti (statue) buried in Giriraj mountain. Following the Lord's instructions, Baba found the murti and began worshipping it with great love.
The Mental Service Begins
Later, another saint advised Baba to also perform mental worship along with the physical worship. Baba was delighted and began doing elaborate mental puja daily.
One day, after his bath, Baba sat for meditation and began his mental worship. In his mind, he lovingly prepared rasagullas (sweet balls) and offered them to Radha-Krishna.
The Miraculous Moment
In his mental worship, Baba watched as Radha Rani delicately broke the rasagullas and ate them properly. But our naughty Lord Krishna put an entire large rasagulla in His mouth at once! When He bit down on it, the sweet syrup splashed out...
When Baba opened his eyes after the worship, his disciples were amazed to see that his waist cloth was actually stained with sugar syrup! The mental offering had become a physical reality!
Baba explained to his surprised disciples: "During the mental worship, I was standing next to Radha and Krishna as their friend. When Krishna bit the rasagulla, the syrup splashed onto my clothes!"
The Profound Teaching
What does this teach us, dear devotees?
These stories reveal a fundamental spiritual truth: Where there is pure devotion (bhav), there God is present. God looks only at the sincerity of our hearts, not at external arrangements or expensive offerings.
The Lord becomes completely bound by genuine, selfless devotion. He responds to our mental worship as if it were physically real because our love and faith make it real for Him.

Today's Special Mental Worship
Let me now guide you through a beautiful mental worship of the Divine Couple - Radha and Krishna, who represent the eternal love between the soul and God.
Preparation
Close your eyes and imagine you are in the sacred land of Vrindavan. You are sitting at the lotus feet of the divine couple, Radha and Krishna, who are in their eternal youthful form.
The Divine Vision
See them before you:
- Their faces shine like lightning, always smiling with joy
- Their eyes are like blooming lotus flowers
- Krishna wears a peacock feather crown
- Their bodies glow like precious gems and gold
- They wear beautiful golden ornaments and garlands
- They are eternally engaged in the dance of divine love
Our Prayer
"O Divine Couple, Radha and Krishna! Please give me the ability to praise you with genuine devotion. May this worship awaken pure love in my heart. May I always remember you in all my actions throughout the day."
Living the Teaching
Dear devotees, after our mental worship, let us carry this divine presence with us throughout the day. Whatever work we do today - whether eating, working, talking, or resting - let us do it all thinking that we are pleasing God through our actions.
Before every action, think: "Will this make my beloved Lord happy?" This simple practice will transform your entire life into worship.
The Promise of Mental Worship
When we practice mental worship regularly with sincere love, our minds become completely absorbed in God's service. We experience such divine bliss that cannot be described in words. The Lord Himself begins to respond to our mental offerings, just like He did for those blessed saints.
Remember: God doesn't need our offerings - He needs our love. He doesn't want our wealth - He wants our heart. When we offer our mind completely to Him through mental worship, He accepts it as the most precious gift.
Your Daily Practice
Starting today, let us all commit to:
- Spending 10-15 minutes in loving mental worship daily
- Carrying the divine presence in our hearts throughout the day
- Performing all actions as offerings to God
- Maintaining constant remembrance of our beloved Lord
May the same divine grace that blessed those great saints also flow into your life. May your mental worship become so powerful that God Himself responds to your love, just as He did for His devoted children.
With blessings and love, In service of the Divine
Continue this practice with faith and patience, dear devotees. The stories I shared are not just tales from the past - they are promises for your future. When pure love meets unwavering faith, miracles become a natural part of our spiritual journey.
